The Records Section of the Newark Police Department is staffed by a Records Clerk who handles duties ranging from greeting citizens at the reception window, handicap parking permits, bad checks and compiling department statistics.
Regular business hours for the Records Section are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (excluding holidays).
Requests for reports may be made in person during business hours or via US mail. There is a $0.25 per page fee for copies of Police reports.
* Please note: If you are a victim of a crime, you are entitled to a free copy of the report.
Mail requests must include a self-addressed, stamped envelope with adequate postage along with a signed FOIL Request.
We cannot send records via e-mail or fax.
