The Village of Newark owns and maintains two (2) cemeteries. The Newark Cemetery (located between North Main Street and Murray Street) has a small chapel and mausoleum on the premises. The East Newark Cemetery is located on Vienna Street and adjacent to East Maple Avenue.
The department performs interments year round and offers burial lots for purchase.
- Single burial lot - $600.00
- Sub-standard size lot - $200.00 (cremation and under 12 yrs only, limited to a flat stone)
- Full vault interment - $600.00
- Infant & Youth (12 years and under) interment - $400.00
- Cremation interment - $400.00 (Double urns same price if buried at same time. If oversized urns, double price)
- Disinterment - $600.00
There is an additional charge for:
- any burial after 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, or
- anytime on Saturday and Sunday,
- or anytime on any holiday:
- Vault burials $400.00
- Cremation $250.00
Winter storage in the Village mausoleum is $100.00. For more than four months, charge is $50.00 per month.
For assistance moving a casket into or out of the mausoleum, there will be a fee of $25.00 per hour per man.
